Two lucky residents have marked neighbouring suburbs in Adelaide’s north with luck after winning big in separate lottery draws in a matter of days.
The first resident struck luck using a set of birthdates most special to him to win $150,000 at Salisbury Plain on Saturday.
“I’ve been playing the same special numbers for a long time,” the man said.
“One day, I decided to buy an entry with a set of birthday numbers, and I’ve never changed them since.
“It’s the most I’ve ever won in my lifetime, that’s for sure.”
He said he would use the money to pay off his mortgage and plan a holiday after Christmas.
Just two days prior on Thursday, a Salisbury woman won first prize in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot Draw.
She was over the moon about the win.
“I can’t believe it, I’m ecstatic,” she said. “The other day I said to my friend, ‘You know, I’d be happy to win $100’. But $100,000 is next level, just fantastic.”
She is planning to use her winnings in a unique way, by changing her water supply from septic to main.
Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot and Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot are raffle-style games, which means there is a set number of tickets in each draw. Because each ticket number is unique there is no sharing of prizes.
The man purchased his ticket at Saints Newsagency on Saints Rd at Salisbury Plain, while a second winner who won $100,000 two days prior purchased her ticket online.
The next big Oz Lotto draw comes on Tuesday evening, where $10m is up for grabs.
It comes after a Snowtown resident won $40m in the Powerball division 1 prize last week.
The Snowtown mum had to pull over while driving when she received the life-changing phone call from Powerball operator The Lott.
