Planning a family getaway can be difficult enough.

So to take some of the pressure out of planning your next perfect 'playcation', Tripadvisor has unveiled the top family-friendly hotels of 2023 as part of its annual Travellers' Choice Best of the Best Hotel Awards.

These stays have been ranked based on the quality and quantity of traveller reviews and ratings posted on Tripadvisor over the last year, so you know they're totally legit and parent-approved. Also, a whopping 1.5 million hotels were taken into account!

The winning hotels all offer incredible amenities for kids, from kids clubs and creches to playgrounds and waterparks. And the best part? Four Aussie hotels have made it into the Top 10 in the South Pacific category this year, so you won't have to travel far to get some top-notch experiences.

So, whether you're looking for a tropical escape (hello, Fiji!) or a city adventure (Dubai, anyone?), check out what made the cut for the Best of the Best Family-Friendly Hotels for the South Pacific and the world, according to travellers.

Top 10 family-friendly hotels in the world

Topping the charts as the number one family-friendly hotel in the world is Ikos Andalusia in Spain. This resort has left travellers in awe with its extensive family-centric offerings like its kids and teens club, on-site sports academies and creche, which will allow parents to get a much-deserved break.

It also boasts an impressive kids' pool and playground, ensuring that your little ones will be occupied around the clock.

Coming in second is Rixos Premium Belek in Turkiye, a lavish resort tucked away in a picturesque pine forest on the Mediterranean coast. Spanning 40 hectares, the resort has its own exclusive kilometre-long sandy beach, kids club, spacious swimming pool and complimentary entrance to the local theme park.

Top 10 family-friendly hotels in the South Pacific

Closer to home, Fiji’s Jean-Michel Cousteau Resort Fiji has topped the South Pacific list. Offering a renowned Kids Club and complimentary nannies for all kids under six, as well as a daily rotating activities roster and a cultural education program, travellers have given this luxury eco-resort the family-friendly tick of approval.

Even closer to home is RACV Resort in Noosa, which came seventh place on the South Pacific list. It features two heated pools, water slides and a splash park as well as tennis courts, playgrounds and bike hire. They also have some of the largest apartments in the region, making it perfect for families.
