Showing that a full face of make-up, a full-bodied head of hair and a very neat figure are her trademarks, it is THAT red cossie that Pamela Anderson wore in Baywatch that really made her famous.
The iconic bombshell became a household name in the mega-popular 90s beach-side TV series and has revived her signature look for the fashion brand, Missguided, for an explosive kick-off to the inexpensive brand’s new fashion season.
Celebrating the ultimate mega babe, Pamela is model the brand’s new SS16 collection of vibrant bold swimwear, deep-plunge lace-up bodysuits and cut-out panelled bardot dresses, drawing on the pin up’s iconic look of the Pamela Anderson we know from the 90s.
“As a fun and bold brand, we believe in championing confidence and empowering women — Pamela Anderson is the ultimate babe and original pin-up for that. She’s iconic,” says Nitin Passi, CEO & Founder of Missguided.
In collaboration with Missguided, the campaign concept has been dreamt up by freelance creative director & super stylist Soki Mak who works with Dazed, ID and Hunger and styled females such as Paris Hilton, Ellie Goulding, Iggy Azalea and Marina & the Diamonds.
Known for her hyper real aesthetic, Mak brought Swedish photographer Arvida Bryström for a collaborative all-women team. The team wanted to represent what the Missguided brand stands for with their #babesofmissguided campaign.
Together with Ms Anderson, Mak and Bystrom created a bold yet candid campaign that shows all sides of Pam — ‘the iconic sex symbol, the real woman behind the pin-up persona and her strong beliefs as a strong, successful empowered female’, goes the media release.
On the other hand, it just shows a 48-year-old woman looking not dissimilar to how she looked nearly 30 years ago, albeit with lots of hair, make-up, a well-toned body and some styling love.
