The beach accessory parents are calling a ‘summer holiday game changer’

They're perfect for the beach, day trips, picnics, play dates or even to pop out in the backyard.

The experts tell us how to behave at the beach

Summer is here, but for parents with small children, that often comes with a fair amount of stress.

Because every parent knows that sand + heat + an overtired toddler = one potentially disastrous beach holiday.

For me, the prospect of carting two kids under the age of four down to the beach along with the 175 items needed to deem the trip a success is usually too daunting.

Not to mention the fleeting 45-minute window of opportunity you have to enjoy said beach and “create memories” before one of them either need a nap or ends up with sand in their eyes. It’s all too much.

But a fellow mum friend recently alerted me to one particular item, which is being heralded on social media as a “game changer”, “life changing” and “must have product” for parents with young children who are actually hoping to enjoy the beach this summer.

Enter: Izimini’s beach baby chair, the sweetest little foldup seat that is perfect for children up to three years of age (or around 15kg).

The beach baby chairs have a harness, carry case and a tray table

The best part? These adorable chairs are lightweight, waterproof, have a harness to keep the littlies secure and come with their own carry case, as well as tray table for mealtimes.

Born in Sydney, the Aussie brand teams up with emerging local designers to create playful and unique designs. They also do baby hats, baby beach towels, outdoor baby toys and family mats.

“The best chair ever,” one parent shared on Instagram.

“Cutest little chairs,” another happy customer agreed.

“I have the same chair… stays in our car and we use it everywhere!” another wrote.

“I love mine - I keep it in the car! So handy for impromptu occasions - if you end up being out somewhere without a high chair, it’s great at the park or at someone’s house for lunch/dinner/ coffee,” one social media user agreed.

"Took this chair on our last trip as we don’t have a travel high chair. We took it everywhere with us - beach, music fest, park and play dates. It is great! Very good quality and we love the designs."

"The kids were ecstatic at the sight of their surprise beach accessory"

Gorgeous colours and patterns aside, it was the idea of the tray table that ultimately hooked me in. No more ice blocks dribbled down swimwear, no more beloved crackers dropped into the sand, or snack boxes spilled before our eyes.

The kid is contained, the food is sand-free and Mum and Dad can theoretically relax.

With a steamy Sydney summer on the horizon, and a two-year-old who is still not sold on the idea of crashing waves and being covered head to toe in sticky sand, I decided to snap up two of these super cute chairs (in the exact same print of course, to avoid squabbles) and take them for a spin at one of our local Sydney beaches.

Well, the kids were ecstatic at the sight of their surprise beach accessory. They squealed with delight and instantly insisted on jumping straight in their chairs, suddenly disinterested in the idea of sandcastle building, or even swimming.

They simply wanted to frolic in their trendy recliners, requesting snacks to be delivered to their tray tables, and giggling as they dug their little toes into the sand and the water lapped their ankles.

And the best part? Mum and Dad could sit back under the umbrella beside them and actually enjoy our coffee – if only for the 45-minute window before the littlest one needed to head home for a well-deserved nap.

These chairs, which retail for $85 each, have since become a go-to travel item in our family, and they do indeed live in the back of the car.

Perfect for picnics, play dates with the cousins, or even to pop out in the backyard when we decide to eat outside during the warmer nights.

A must-have for mealtimes and, day trips and holidays!
