As she poses for her first major fashion shoot, Rachael Gunn (aka Raygun) opens up about the worldwide vitriol she received following her much-maligned breakdancing performance at this year’s Paris Olympics.

In an in-depth interview with this Sunday’s Stellar that is both defiant and self-effacing, academic and competitive breakdancer Gunn gives an honest account of the low points – and laughs – she has endured since becoming a global punchline at the Olympics, thanks to her unorthodox breaking routine.

The 37-year-old explains what life has looked like in the weeks since she returned from Paris, where her much-critcised breaking performance turned her into a punchline.

Of her critics, Gunn tells Stellar: “You did not bring me down. You did not succeed. I still stand by what I did”.

Raygun went viral with her Paris Olympics breakdancing routine, in which she did not score a single point.

The routine – which featured kangaroo-like movements and had Gunn rolling around on the floor – made headlines around the world.
