Australia’s biggest retailers are expected to see queues curling inside and outside shopping centres, as people come out in force to score bargains.

More than 40 per cent will be making purchases both online and in-store, with 36.7 per cent heading to brick-and-mortar stores only, according to the latest ShopFully survey.

“Shoppers will be doing their research, first turning to online search to compare prices and make sure they’re scoring the best deals,” Nick Larcher of ShopFully Australia says.

Kmart’s Melissa Machin says deals on home, tech, beauty and toys continue to prove popular.

“We have big ticket items such as Hot Wheels, Lego, Pokémon and LOL Surprise for the kids, an inflatable spa and 3m outdoor gazebo to get your place summer ready, and Amazon, Polaroid and gaming accessory packs for the tech head,” she says.

New research by Bunnings shows 31 per cent of customers are planning to buy Christmas presents during Black Friday or Cyber Monday, even higher amongst 18-34 year olds.

“With a later start to the warmer weather and many turning their attention to the backyard, some of our top picks include a bevy bar and a portable two-burner BBQ,” Bunnings’ chief customer officer Ryan Baker says.
