Way back in 1991, Marty Smith produced his first quiz for The Advertiser. Now, more than 80,000 questions later, Brainwaves has become an SA institution.

Families and friends across the state have made a tradition of getting together to test their knowledge in the weekly quiz which takes pride of place in SAWeekend magazine every Saturday.

To mark Brainwaves’ 30th birthday, last year The Advertiser asked Smith to compile 10, 50-question quizzes, each one based on a theme ranging from Sport to Geography to Movies and Television.

The quizzes were such a success last Christmas period we are rolling them out again. We figured it would be a good test of the long-term memories of those who tried them last year, and be a fresh challenge for those who missed them last year.
