30yo Aussie star’s ‘degrading’ video divides
A seven-second Instagram clip of Abbie Chatfield and her boyfriend has ignited an unexpected social media storm, forcing the star to defend herself.
Abbie Chatfield has once again caused a stir – this time over a cheeky Instagram video with her boyfriend, Peking Duk’s Adam Hyde.
The It’s a Lot podcast host shared a clip on her Instagram on Monday, showing herself in a leopard print bikini sitting down on Hyde’s lap on a bed.
In the short seven-second clip, Hyde squeezes her breasts as the couple laugh.
Over the footage, Chatfield used a trending sound that has been circulating on Instagram in recent weeks, originating from Psychic YouTuber Antophrodite.
It said: “Who do you think you were in a past life? I was a siren on a rock with my boobs out, luring men to their death”.

Commenters slammed the clip
The video quickly amassed over 1.5 million views, 15,000 likes, and nearly 1000 comments.
“Appreciate the connection you guys have, but why post this for comments?” one viewer asked.
“Abbie’s mum is so proud of her daughters,” another person said sarcastically, while another chimed in with, “Some things just don’t need to be shared”.
Others made lewd comments that we’ve chosen not to reshare.
Others praised it
However, plenty of fans quickly came to the defence of the 30-year-old influencer and her musician boyfriend.
“You have it, you flaunt it, bebeh! We support this post!” one supporter wrote.
“Oh, how dare she wear a bikini and be in love … romanticising her own damn life!” another joked.
“The most offensive part of this, is there isn’t a link to this bikini. Where it at?” someone else posted.
Even Queer Eye’s Jonathan Van Ness dropped into the comments with a heart-eyes emoji, while another user declared, “If I looked like this, I’d be posting stuff like this as well”.
Several others praised Chatfield and Hyde’s relationship dynamic, writing, “Now THIS is a healthy relationship,” and “This is what a happy and fun relationship looks like”.
One person summed up the hypocrisy some believe is at play: “People will literally witness a genocide on Instagram but be angered and shocked by this,” they said.
Chatfield’s response
Chatfield then clapped back in her trademark style.
“Conservatism is truly back because why are people clutching their pearls at this, it’s a bikini ????????” she wrote in the comments.
She followed up with, “and a SILLY boob squeeze from my boyfriend like?????”
And finally, “IT’S A FULL BRIEF BIKINI, EVERYONE CALM DOWN”.

Chatfield and Hyde’s relationship timeline
The former Bachelor star has been dating Hyde since late 2023.
They first met in 2022 when she interviewed Peking Duk on her radio show.
However, they didn’t start dating until almost a year later.
“We’d see each other and we’d make out and we’d not talk afterwards,” Chatfield said on It’s A Lot.
However, things became official after she saw Hyde perform at a gig in Brisbane.
“I mean, everything kind of changed in that next day and night,” Hyde said.
The couple have since moved in together and have openly discussed their plans to get married.
“I want to marry you,” Chatfield said on her podcast.
“I want to marry you, too,” Hyde added.
The two even discussed having children together, though it seems that won’t be for quite some time.
“If there’s anyone I’m having kids with, it’s you for sure, and me and you have spoken a lot about it,” Hyde said on the show last year.
“I don’t want them for at least five years,” Chatfield confirmed.
