Two Aussie blokes are getting slammed for revealing the mundane things women do that they consider unattractive.
Ottie Clarke and Jake Craig co-host a popular podcast together called Relatable and clips from the show have reached over nine million views on TikTok.
The podcast often delves into both Clarke and Craig sharing their musings on modern dating and relationships from a male perspective, with the pair creating chaos when they shared their “icks”.
Ick is a modern dating term coined to describe a niche turn-off and it constantly goes viral on social media with people sharing the random stuff they find unattractive.
The pair jumped on the trend and Craig listed a bunch of things he finds unattractive, including women “squealing” when they get excited to see their friends and botching their fake-tanning.
“When can you see that line on their chin because they didn’t do their face,” Craig vented.
Clarke disagreed with that ick and said he found bad fake tans more “funny” than an actual turn-off.
Still the pair were mostly in agreement on stuff women were doing that they didn’t like. They agreed that women with fake nails were icky because of that “colicky noise” they make when typing.
They were also in fierce agreement that women who post tributes to their parents on social media were icky.
“When they post a photo of their dad on Father’s Day or their dad’s birthday, and their dad doesn’t even have Instagram,” Craig complained.
“Even if their mum for Mother’s Day – they’re not going to see this, why are you posting it? There’s no benefit at all.”
Clarke said there was an exception to the rule when the “mum is hot.”
“True – you can see what the girl will look like when she’s older, and you can decide whether you want to keep following her,” Craig added.
Both were in giggles over that outdated remark.
Clarke chimed in and said that his biggest ick was seeing women wandering around in unclean shoes.
“Dirty converses or dirty white air-forces,” he listed.
Craig said that a dirty shoe was just a sign that the woman “has been around”, adding that he meant “walking around.”
Their icks are pretty questionable when considering that some of the gripes they were revealing meant that famous sex symbols like Kylie Jenner and Emily Ratajkowski would be regarded as “icky” by their standards.
Kylie constantly posts photos featuring her fake nails, and it is no secret that she’s constantly tapping away on her phone, and Emily is guilty of posting shout-outs to her mum, who doesn’t have social media.
Interestingly the men roasting women for basically just existing didn’t go down that well with people commenting that they found their icks “reaching.”
“How are half of these icks?” someone commented.
“When he has a podcast,” another joked.
“They will never get it,” another vented.
“Making sure I do every one of these things so these men stay far away,” someone else wrote.
“I feel like we are reaching here,” another complained.
Of course, not everyone felt the boys were wrong.
“Taking note of all Ottie’s icks so he doesn’t hate me,” one wrote.
“Do more of these,” another demanded.
