Lindy Klim has revealed how she had to borrow money from her family in order to restart her life after her second marriage fell apart.
The Balinese princess and model married British property developer Adam Ellis in 2018, however the couple called it quits in 2024 after six years of marriage.
Klim, 46, recently relocated back to Australia after spending the last 14 years living in Bali, her late father’s homeland.
Her father, Anak Agung Oka Rama, was a member of the Royal Denpasar family.
Speaking on the FemmeCon Presents: Modern Woman, Redefined podcast, Klim said moving back to Melbourne has been “amazing” after leaving Bali following the couple’s separation.
Klim revealed she left most of her possessions behind, only packing the essentials.
“I rented a house that’s fully furnished, because I have nothing. I arrived in Australia with two suitcases and my kids,” she said.
“I left everything in Bali. I don’t even care. I don’t ever want to see it again.”
Klim shares one child with Ellis, a seven-year-old daughter named Goldie. She also shares three children with her first husband, champion swimmer Michael Klim – Stella, 19, Rocco, 16 and Frankie, 13.
She said she has a habit of “starting fresh” and even though she is “super broke” she feels proud to have something that is just hers. Klim revealed she needed to borrow money from people she knew in order to get the plane tickets to move back to Australia — something she’d never done before.
She revealed she was the main breadwinner in her previous relationship, but when it came to leaving she had to “call family and friends to get a loan” to buy plane tickets and set up the house.
Klim admitted it was huge hurdle she had to overcome, saying before she asked for help she was terrified of where her family would end up.
“Living in Australia, on very little money. Being a full-time mum — in Bali I’m used to having some helpers — but doing all the house work, full time mum and working. I’m doing everything. But, that is a million times easier than what I was doing in Bali,” she said.
While Klim said that Bali will always be her home, she “probably won’t go back for quite a while.”
“I just need to settle into Australia and give it a little rest for a while,” she added.
The podcast appearance comes just days after Klim debuted her new relationship with medical tech businessman Paul Mullert at LIV Golf Adelaide.
“He’s just a normal, nice guy,’’ Klim told The Daily Telegraph.
“We’ve been seeing each other for a few months and just taking it slow. This is a nice little intro into my world.”
She said they met through Mr Mullert’s sister, who lived in Bali and told Klim to go on a date with her brother.
