Residents of a “quaint” British village have been left furious after the UK’s biggest sex festival descended on their sleepy country town.
Swingathon, a raunchy four-day event, took place in a field in the small hamlet of Allington, 40 miles southeast of London, The Sun reports.
More than 1000 scantily-clad attendees paid around $520 to access the sex-stravaganza, which included “play tents”, hot tubs, foam parties and mobile dungeons.
But while those in the mood to get kinky were delighted by the event, locals living nearby were “furious” by the X-rated antics taking place.
Aerial shots of the campsite show just how many have descended on the area, after the event – in its third year – was promoted as being “bigger, bolder, better” than ever before.
Photographs from Swingathon’s social media account revealed tents filled with an array of sex toys, including whips and chains.
The event also boasted a large tent on its Instagram story where attendees could go for next-level kink, alongside the caption: “The SpicyLounge is something to behold! Along with the moon!”
Those taking part in the festivities have shared a stream of snaps flaunting their barely there outfits – with some seemingly even ditching their clothes altogether.
Many women opted for BDSM-inspired get ups, such as latex bikinis and see-through lingerie, while men opted for jockstraps and bodypaint.
During last year’s event, locals complained of being kept awake by the sounds of “screaming and moaning” coming from the countryside site, Daily Mail reported.
One unidentified local told the publication: “I heard about the noise complaints previously and its not the sounds you want to hear when you’re trying to sleep.
“It all seems a bit seedy if I’m honest, not my cup of tea. Each to their own I suppose but we don’t really want or need it in the village.”
The complaints led to objections being raised by the South Kesteven District Council licensing committee and Lincolnshire Police, according to Lad Bible.
However, residents concerns about the X-rated antics didn’t stop the event from taking place again, with its co-organiser Matthew Cole stating some were in support of the sex festival.
“Last year we had to go through a headache from start to finish, but this year is totally different and they are working so much better with us,” he told the outlet.
“They are giving us advice on how we can do better, so to have them more on board this year is great.
“I think they have realised we are not going anywhere. We have put a lot of work into the event and a lot of time into it.
“We have sold more tickets than ever and having the council on side as well, it could not be going any better than I wanted.”
Festivalgoers took the backlash in their stride, with one writing on social media: “Wow, who knew getting over 800 sexy authentic people in one place would cause such a stir. Cheers to next year.”
