Residents in the affluent Sydney suburb of Mosman are up in arms after a giant advertisement featuring a scantily-clad young woman kneeling on a bed was seen driving up and down the main road on Tuesday.

The mobile billboard was hired out by OnlyFans star Shiane Foxx and asked: “Are you rich, old and lonely? I’m looking for a sugar daddy,” before listing her phone number and Instagram handle.

Ms Foxx forked out $2,000 to hire the billboard which quickly riled up locals.

The act was called “distasteful,” “inappropriate,” “pathetic,” and “absolutely shameful,” by residents in a Mosman Facebook group.

“Totally unacceptable that this is allowed,” one person said, “My seven year old read it out loud and then asked me what it meant. What has this world come to!! Can anyone advise if there’s a way to report this to the council?”

Others saw the humour in it and joked, “Target audience spot on!” and “Meals on Wheels?”

“Grossly inappropriate for Mosman. Not a Country Road item in sight,” another said.

Sharing a video of the billboard driving down busy Military Road to social media, a bikini-clad Shiane said, “I want a sugar daddy, I don’t want to find one myself, I’m over working, so I spent $2,000 of my own money to send a billboard around the richest suburb of Australia so I can find myself a sugar daddy.

“So if you’re rich, old and lonely, call me!”

Data from the 2021 census records around 6,000 people over the age of 65 living in Mosman, and lists the median weekly household income of the suburb at $2,892.

According to Domain, Mosman is the country’s fourth most exclusive suburb with a median house price of $5.013 million. It is only surpassed by Sydney’s Bellevue Hill, Vaucluse and Bronte, with Melbourne’s Toorak coming in just behind it in fifth.

Are racy billboards illegal?

A similar scenario played out in Perth in 2023 where an OnlyFans star used a billboard with a photo of herself in a bikini to advertise her page.

Despite receiving 350 complaints from members of the public, AdStandards said the billboard did not breach the advertising industry’s code of ethics.
