A man has been called out over the harsh advert he put out on his ex’s wedding gown after learning she had allegedly cheated on him.
The man, from the UK, posted an advert and photos of the dress to Facebook Marketplace for £5 ($A9) where he insulted his former partner throughout the description.
In his ad, which he labelled “Wedding dress – size fat”, he also hinted their engagement was called off due to alleged cheating.
It read: “Wedding dress – would fit the larger lady, quite chavvy in style so would suit a cheap sl**per.”
He added the dress is believed to be a size 12, but is probably bigger because his ex was “prone to lying”.
“It’s a size 12 I think – she was prone to lying so it’s possibly a 14/16,” he wrote.
The Stockton-on-Tees local shared a series of photos of the gown, including one with his ex wearing the dress.
A screenshot of the advert was shared to TikTok this week where it has since gone viral, clocking half a million views and hundreds of comments from people shocked by the man’s act.
“Somehow I think it’s she who had the lucky escape,” one woman wrote.
“Damn she had a lucky escape,” another agreed.
Others said the ad said “more about him than it does her”.
“She looked stunning. I’m glad she didn’t marry him,” one TikTok user commented.
Some said they would happily pay more for the dress, adding she looked “beautiful”.
“I think it’s a beautiful dress – she’s probably the lucky one to get out of the relationship,” one person reiterated.
However, others sided with the man arguing he had every right to vent if she really did cheat on him.
“Everyone thinking she had a lucky escape when sounds like he was cheated on. Who hasn’t said crap about an ex,” one wrote.
Another said: “Maybe she broke his heart and he’s venting?” while a third added: “All the ‘she’s had a lucky escape’ comments but if it was a girl trashing a guy’s car they’d all be hyping her up! Double standards.”
