Controversial sex worker Bonnie Blue to appeal visa cancellation

The British native still has her sights set on young Aussies at Schoolies week despite the Australian government cancelling her visa last week.

Bonnie Blue is currently one of the most talked-about women in the world.

Following her viral Spring Break stunt where she filmed herself being bedded by 150 “barely legal” college men in Mexico last year for her adult subscription account, she made headlines around the globe.

Now, Australia has cancelled the visa of the British native after she ignited another firestorm of controversy for publicising her intention to do the same thing during Australia’s Schoolies week in Queensland.

Despite the visa ban, Ms Blue said today that she still has her heart set on attending at the end of the year celebrations.

She told news.com.au that “as a law-abiding person” she doesn’t agree with the decision but will “observe and respect” all laws of Australia as she has always said she would.

For now, she is working on an appeal which means she hopes the decision can be withdrawn.

Her visa was cancelled last week because of allegations that Ms Blue intended to contravene her 12-month visa by working in Australia. She says it had nothing to do with her Schoolies stunt.

Who is Bonnie Blue and how did she get where she is today?

Ms Blue’s unapologetic, sex-positive nature might lead people to believe she was always headed for the spotlight, but her “simple” middle-class upbringing suggests otherwise.

Raised alongside her sister by parents who remain happily married, she described her upbringing as “quite normal”.

“I had a very average life, really,” Ms Blue told news.com.au.

“I didn’t go to a private school and my parents had money but nothing crazy. We would go on one holiday a year, and if we needed work on the kitchen or something, we’d have to save up or cut back on a holiday that year.”

As a child who grew up in a small Derbyshire village in the UK, she wasn’t sure what career path she wanted to take but liked the sound of either a midwife or a detective.

Her schooling journey saw her attending sixth form, the equivalent of year 12, but dropping out three months into her A-levels.

She then started working at Pound Stretcher, a store similar to a dollar store, while also teaching dance and completing a recruitment apprenticeship.

After working in a soul-sucking office job for some time, she grew tired of the daily grind and sought a more fulfilling life.

Accompanied by her then-husband — whom she met at 14 and later married in February 2022 — Ms Blue relocated to the Gold Coast.

“I always wanted to live in the sun and have a better work-life balance because, in the UK, I felt like I was wasting my life,” she said.

She took two years off work and after burning through her savings, realised that returning to a corporate environment filled her with dread.

“I wanted more from my life,” she explained. “and like any girl, I spent a lot of time on social media, and noticed a lot of people recommending camming. They were saying that they were earning anywhere from $100 to $4000-$5000.

“In my eyes, I thought this would be a good opportunity to work from home, choose my own hours, be independent and have some freedom.”

Her husband, who was working in property at the time, was comfortable with the idea and even supportive of it.

“He thought it was a brilliant idea, which really gave me the confidence to pursue it,” she said.

Getting into the adult industry while in a relationship

At first, the gig was purely for money, “not for pleasure”, so she didn’t feel like she was cheating or doing anything wrong.

“It was just so I could support our future and what we wanted to do long-term,” she said.

“I quickly became obsessed with camming and was doing 12-16 hour days because the longer you’re on it, the more you can see the money going up. I would literally be on it non-stop.”

The demanding hours led her to create an OnlyFans account, which allowed her to earn money in her sleep.

“If I wanted to go away for the weekend and not be on the camera, my money would drop. So I made a couple of solo videos and thought, well, at least people could purchase that when I’m not online.”

Her marriage breakdown

Despite public speculation, Ms Blue made it clear that her marriage’s end wasn’t due to her controversial career choice.

“We had already started to drift apart prior to (work on the subscription website). As much as people think it had to do with that, it was very separate,” she said.

“My relationship broke down without a dramatic ending … no one cheated, we absolutely adored each other. I just think that when a lot of couples have been together for a long time, you become comfortable or you just settle.

“I thought I could be happier if I were by myself or potentially with someone else in the future. Too many couples stay together because it’s the easier route, which is fine, but I think more people in relationships need to be selfish.”

Their unconventional friendship

Even after their relationship came to an end, their bond remained strong.

Today, Ms Blue’s ex is not only incredibly proud of her but he even plays an integral role in her business as her manager.

“He works for me now and overlooks my team to ensure I’m hitting my goals in both my work and personal life,” she said.

Bonnie’s post-marriage dating life

Ms Blue’s post-marriage dating life has had its ups and downs and is now virtually “non-existent”.

“I did date at the start of this year, however, the guy I was dating told me that if I were to go to Spring Break, then it’s going to be called off,” she said.

“Spring Break and this job have always been a priority, so he quickly went out the window.”

Her line of work has meant she’s also been banned from most dating apps, as people would recognise her and try to talk to her about her job, which you’re not allowed to do on those platforms.

Supporting her family is one of her top priorities

One of Ms Blue’s biggest motivators throughout this all has been her family.

In the beginning, supporting them wasn’t her main consideration, as she didn’t realise her earning potential.

But as her subscriber count grew, she ensured they were well cared for, especially now more than ever due to the hate they are receiving.

“People think my family is only supportive because I give them money, but that’s not the case,” she explained.

“But mentally for me, it does allow it to be a lot better because they’re able to be financially free because of my job, which allows them to take the hate a bit better.

“They have received death threats and media outside their houses and workplaces.”

What’s on the horizon for Bonnie Blue?

In terms of her plans for next year, Ms Blue said she’ll be doing everything she’s done this year, only “bigger and better”.

Plus, “People are definitely going to be seeing me on their TV screens a lot next year!”
