He’s been brought back to the RSPCA four times and described as “demonic” – but it seems like Chester the cat just got another chance.

Chester the “demonic” and “anti-social” cat has found his fifth home, just 24 hours after the RSPCA put out a call to find him a new home by Christmas.
Earlier this week, cat keeper Jenny Sherring revealed Chester’s redeeming features, describing him as misunderstood, chatty and loving.
And it seems to have worked, because the next day Chester was in a new home with Adelaide woman Wilma.
Wilma decided to adopt Chester after she saw him featured on the news on Tuesday night.
“I’ve been wanting another cat for a while and I just thought he looked cute,” Wilma said.
“There’s just me, no other animals, and I’m retired, so home a lot.”
Wilma said Chester was settling into her home nicely.
“He’s been following me around the house and he sat up behind my head on the recliner.
“It’s only day one, but he’s already looking pretty relaxed here and I’m just letting him mosey about and giving him a treat now and then.”
The eight-year-old male tabby cat has been returned to the Lonsdale Shelter four times in the past seven years, in most cases due to his “unappealing” behaviour.
Ms Sherring said she will miss Chester but is pleased he has found his fifth, and hopefully final, home.
“As soon as Wilma interacted with him, it was clear that this was a lady who understands cats,” Ms Sherring said.
“I’ll definitely miss having him call out to me each day, wanting me to step into his enclosure with him and give him some love and attention.”
He was first brought to the RSPCA in August 2013 as a stray from Port Lincoln.
Chester was adopted within weeks, and back at the shelter just as fast, with the new owner saying he was aggressive towards humans.
His next home lasted six years, and ended because his owner went into an aged-care facility.
It took Chester a further 10 months to find home number three, where the owner returned him after two weeks because he did not suit their lifestyle.
The fourth owner stated Chester was “best suited to a home with no children”.
She described him as “demonic and anti-social”.
There are 20 older cats remaining at the RSPCA’s Lonsdale shelter available for adoption.
