Strangers are angry at our nude wedding, but it's who we are

“It’s our lifestyle, there’s no need to have a traditional ceremony in church or anything like that."

Couple arrested after nude wedding

A couple has faced fierce criticism for having a nude wedding where all the groomsmen and bridesmaids were also in their birthday suits.

Brazilian social media influencer Luiza Marcato and her husband, Maximo Garcia, were officially married earlier this month before a pastor in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

The Daily Mail reports that after the ‘official’ ceremony, the couple held a vastly different ceremony at Garcia’s home which was attended by people from the adult film industry and models.

That was where they hosted their nude wedding and reception, where some members reportedly recorded “racy scenes”.

"This is our lifestyle"

The couple, who are popular on adult website OnlyFans, opted against a traditional ceremony because it was “not something they really believed in.

“It’s our lifestyle, there’s no need to have a traditional ceremony in church or anything like that,” Garcia told Brazilian news outlet G1.

“It is not our reality. We met in this adult environment, it’s our world.

Marcato described the wedding as an “intimate ceremony” with people they considered “really close to us”.

“We are not jealous, we love each other and we are liberal,” she said. “We are in the best phase, happy and together.”

"We did the wedding our way"

The Daily Mail reports the couple said their wedding wasn’t a “slap in the face” to the custom despite the hate they’d received online.

“We did the wedding our way,” Garcia said.

“We met in porn, our friends are from porn, we live in that world. Why would it be different?

“It is not disrespect for the ritual itself. On the contrary, it is respect for our essence, for who we really are.”

"I'm much more than what people say"

The hate doesn’t seem to be affecting the happy couple, who are both laughing all the way to the bank.

“To be honest, I don’t even see the comments and criticisms anymore,” Garcia said.

“I’m much more than what people say. It may seem like arrogance, but I don’t care what people think of me anymore.

“While they criticise, I earn $80,000 a month. I now have a wonderful wife, a real relationship without lies and secrets, and we’re doing it our way.”
