WALKING the plank, fighting gladiator style or even stopping for a picnic suspended above the ground will be on the recreational agenda for the Adelaide public from this week.
The MegaAdventure Aerial Park at West Beach will boast a 26-metre high playground in the sky aimed at families, individuals, corporate groups and the curious.
Opening on Friday the $2.5 million Skymate is the brainchild of former military man Alex Blyth who is keen to bring adventure experiences into urban communities.
Visitors can climb and clamber across 130 separate obstacles, perhaps play a game of totem tennis or enjoy the city view while sitting in a row or at a picnic table.
Mr Blyth said there will be an eventual capacity for up to 300 people who are harnessed at all times while exploring the sky park.
Aerial Park corporate and groups manager, former Australian Diamonds player Jane Altschwager, said businesses were looking for something new and exciting for staff and clients.
“MegaAdventure offers a terrific platform to celebrate and challenge with work colleagues. We have been working hard to develop a cost-effective solution for businesses looking for something different,” she said.
