Recall issued on Fisher-Price baby biceps gift set sold in Target, Toyworld over choking hazard

A common baby toy gift set sold across Target stores all over Australia has been recalled due to a potentially fatal issue in one of the plastic items.

Urgent recall issued for several toys and clothing products

A popular baby toy gift set sold across Target stores in Australia, and one Victorian Toyworld store, has been recalled due to a potential choking hazard.

Product Safety Australia has recalled the Fisher-Price baby biceps gift set, specifically because of a choking hazard on the dumbbell toy.

“This product may not comply with the mandatory standard for toys for children up to and including 36 months of age,” the recall notice states.

“The grey caps on the ends of the dumbbell toy can come off.

“There is a risk of serious injury or death from choking on the grey caps if they detach from the dumbbell toy.

Customers are urge to return the product to their place of purchase or contact Mattel Consumer Relations to receive a refund.

The baby biceps gift set was sold at Target stores across the country, and Toyworld Werribee in Victoria, from September to December of 2023.

The gift set comes with the baby-sized dumbbell, a sweatband, a protein shaker and a kettlebell.

Product Safety Australia issued the recall on Wednesday.

The recall concerns model number GJD49, and the model number is written on the back of the kettlebell toy.

Parents and carers should stop children from using the dumbbell immediately.
