Newborn baby snatched from Queensland hospital

Police are desperately searching for a one-day-old baby who was taken from a Queensland hospital and “may be at significant risk”.

Queensland police are urgently seeking assistance to help find a one-day-old baby girl who was taking from a hospital.

Police officers are desperately searching for the newborn girl who was taken from Ipswich hospital on Monday, who they say "may be at significant risk".

"Two women were seen taking the baby and putting her into a white Suzuki Liana with registration 095HI8," a police spokesperson said.

"The car was last seen leaving Charlotte Street, Basin Pocket at 2.30pm on Tuesday."

Anyone who has information can contact 131 564 or call Triple Zero if the situation is life-threatening.
