The internet is full of grandparents - especially mother-in-laws - taking liberties with their grandkids.
From medicating them for sleep, to putting Coke in their bottles, their behaviour is often questionable, and the stories always outrageous.
But this fresh tale about cutting hair stands out; and we have the screenshots to prove it.

"I went to take out the trash and guess what?!"
Mum Julia Cheva posted TikTok about what happened, and captioned it, "Guys, I need your help. This is ridiculous."
It begins with text over shots of her gorgeous little girl sporting a 'Pebbles' ponytail.
The text reads:
"TOXIC MIL. My mother-in-law said we need to cut my daughter's hair, because it's so thin and she doesn't look good with the ponytails I've done.
"Today I went to take out the trash and guess what?!"
The vision then switches to the toddler in her highchair... sporting a freshly hacked head of hair.
"She cut her bangs [fringe]. Just look at how uneven it this is. What can I do to make it look better?"
The furious mum adds, "I said to my husband this is the last straw. She crossed the boundaries again."
In a follow up clip, Julia explains that the MIL actually lives with them, and has been problematic for a while.
"She can't be trusted"
The clip attracted almost half a million views, and more than 5000 comments.
Most people were outraged on Julia's behalf.
"Girl never let that woman around her again. That’s not her child to be making those decisions, I’m sorry she cut her beautiful hair," one wrote emphatically.
The sentiment was echoed by many others, such as this viewer who wrote, "Never leave her alone again. She can't be trusted."
Others put the onus of speaking to the MIL on the woman's husband.
"That would infuriate me. Your husband needs to set boundaries with HIS mother. I’m so sorry this happened. Hopefully it can be resolved. Much luck to you," read one empathetic comment.

Grandparents also weighed in, with one claiming, "I’m a grandma and I would never… not without permission."
A second grandmother added that it was "crossing a line."
In battles with MILs, often the partner takes his mum's side; but luckily for Julia, that's not the case.
"My husband is on my side," she reports.
She's probably going to need luck on her side, too.
