Mum with kid expects stranger 's help at checkout - then exacts revenge

"Me being the absolute spiteful b*tch I am..." mum Lani begins as she outlines her "petty" act in an epic supermarket rant.

Shopper's wild revenge on 'inconsiderate' customer

A mum has detailed her "spiteful" act of revenge against an "inconsiderate" fellow customer, after she wasn't allowed to skip the supermarket checkout queue with her child.

Aussie mum Lani Hyde, who has a following of more than 41,000 on TikTok, asked viewers if she was "in the wrong" for taking the woman’s bacon, eggs and butter from the conveyor belt and buying them herself - as an act of retaliation.

"She was eyeballing me"

Lani explained that she only needed two ingredients that she was missing for dinner.

"I get there, I've got [my son] Hudson on my hip … and he's tantrum-ing around, and you can imagine a tantrum-ing around, 14-kilo, almost-two-year-old, he's pulling my hair and scratching me," she began.

"I saw this put-together lady, she was eyeballing me and greasing me off because obviously Hudson’s squeal was p*ssing her off, [just] like it was p*ssing me off, but like, what do you do? You can’t tell them to shut up because they just don’t f**king listen.

"Anyway, all I have is these two items … I get to the register – the self-service checkouts are not working, so I’m like, ‘F**k me, I’ve gotta go line up with all the people who have massive trolleys'.

"I had to line up behind the lady that was eyeballing me. And guess what? It wasn’t her turn yet, there was still someone in front of her that was like finishing up their groceries, and she’s seen that I only had these two [items] and I’m like, holding Hudson and he’s slapping and scratching me, and she kind of just greased me off and looked me up and down and continued stacking her stuff up on the counter and did not let me go in front of her for two little things.

"So, me being the absolute spiteful b*tch that I am, she was stacking all of her shopping up, she had so much, it came to $407. So I took her eggs and bacon and her butter that was at the back of the pile. I just sat it back towards me, put those [her items] in front of it, and I bought them.

“This butter is a butter that I actually use, eggs, of course I’ll use, bacon, I would normally get streaky bacon, but I’ll use shortcut bacon. So I hope she gets home and tomorrow, does not get to have her eggs and bacon for being an inconsiderate b*tch.

“Am I in the wrong? Because my husband was like, ‘Oh my God, you can’t do that’.

"And I’m like, ‘I f**king did’. I did it. F**k her. The way she was looking at me was so bad, she literally looked at me like Hudson was the biggest germ in the world.”

"First in best dressed"

More than 2600 viewers took to the very divided comments section.

Many directly told her she was “in the wrong”.

“Yeah idk, first in best dressed tbh, that’s what a queue is,” one viewer wrote.

“Not nice of her to grease u but she didn’t owe you her place in the queue.”

A second agreed, adding: “It’s odd that people struggle to understand the concept of how a queue works of how many things you’re paying for … No one is obligated.”

Some viewers suggested Lani “could have just asked to go in front of her as you only had two items, instead of waiting for her to offer”.

“Not where I expected this story to go … I’ve asked if I can just jump ahead when my kids are losing it, I haven’t taken their items though,” another said.

“I’m so down for this level of petty”

Then there were those who said Lani was “the kind of petty I aspire to be”.

“Everyone’s so mad but I personally find this so funny, it’s just eggs and bacon,” one said.

“100% love this. It’s not hard to be a nice person, nice people get eggs and bacon!” another wrote.

“I’m so down for this level of petty,” a third added.
