‘Fairytale I deserve’: Bride’s entitled list of ‘non-negotiables’ for wedding

“You’ll be part of some fab sponsored content, and I need my bride tribe with me every step of the way,” the bride wrote in her extensive wedding itinerary.

What not to do at a wedding

If you heard about weekly Zoom check-ins, brand collaborations and champagne brunches, you might think you’re taking a peek into a popular influencer’s calendar.

But we’re talking about a wedding, and the requirements, from $1200 branded beauty product boxes to luxury dress fitting weekends, were put together by the bride.

The woman’s expansive list of demands ended up on Reddit – of course it did – and the internet got on its judgey pants to watch the very entertaining show.

“I had to post, I thought this was a joke, but it is apparently 100 percent real,” the woman posted, sharing screen shots of the bride’s wedding plan.

“Imagine asking and expecting your bridal party to shell out thousands of dollars and still talking to them like this? Get a grip people.”

The bride was nothing if not clear. “I have some expectations that you all MUST meet,” she wrote, presumably addressing her bridal party.

“These are non-negotiable, so get ready to step up your game.”

Bride’s entitled wedding journey

For a split second, the bride was amiable, even welcoming her friends to her “wedding journey”, but the tone quickly devolved.

“This is my big day and everything needs to be perfect,” she wrote.

“I’ve spent countless hours planning every detail to ensure it’s the fairytale I deserve.

“From the dresses to the decorations, everything has been carefully chosen by me and I expect you to respect that.”

Of course, the woman’s “wedding of the century” had a theme: luxe boho glam, which was the “perfect mix of chill and fabulous”. In the same breath she said it would “basically be the Met Gala” and sorry but we didn’t realise that an event that sees celebrities do things like carry a lifelike silicone model of their own head a la Jared Leto could be described as “chill”.

It’s 2024 and brand collaborations seem to permeate every aspect of our lives, so maybe it shouldn’t have surprised us so much that the bride worked sponsored content and brand deals to make sure she and her “bride tribe” got all the gear they needed, including a limo for the spa weekend.

The bridesmaids still need to fork out $500 a night for the hotel rooms, but at least they’ll be riding around in style for free.

Bride sets up expectations for expensive wedding

The hotel rooms for the spa weekend were just the beginning of the expenses, including a bridal shower in Spain, hair and make-up trials that would cost $400 plus $1200 for extensions, and $1000 for “wedding week madness”, which was “going to be amazing”.

The bridal shower seemed to be almost as important to the bride as the wedding itself, and although she’d planned exactly what she wanted, it was up to her bridesmaid to execute the plan and pay for it.

“It needs to be elegant, chic and totally Instagrammable. This is your responsibility to handle and make it amazing.”

Reddit hated the bride’s wedding plans.

“This should be titled, ‘How to Lose Friends in One Page’,” one person said of the ridiculous list.

“The minute I read ‘weekly one-hour check-in meeting’, I would have been out. I don’t do that for my actual job let alone this bankruptcy in the making,” said another.
