I speak to my mum at least 11 times a day - some think it's strange

"I can't believe many of you only call your mums once a week - or even once a month!"

How often do you call your mum

Have you ever scrolled through your recent calls and noticed how often you speak to your mum?

Content creator Ava Stanley went viral recently after sharing her call log.

"I saw a video of a girl saying that she calls her mum like once or twice a week," Ava begins in her clip.

"I called my mum, or she called me 11 times yesterday," she shares proudly.

"And I never really have anything to say either, and if she misses my call, and she calls me back, she's like, 'Hey, what's up? Like, why’d you call?' And I'll be like, 'I don't remember. I just wanted to chit-chat'."

Her video has now been viewed over 2.3 million times, with many users sharing how much they love their mums and catch up with them several times a day.

"11 phone calls, try 19!"

"When my mum doesn’t answer on the first try, I’m like, 'what could she possibly be doing?'" one viewer joked.

Another boasted that she beat Ava's record, writing: "We called each other 19 times yesterday, and I spent three hours at her house last night."

A third professed, "Whenever any minor inconvenience happens, I immediately call my mum."

"I call my mum every day on my way home from work, and if she can’t talk, I literally don’t know what to do with myself," another echoed.

And this woman shared, "I live at home, but when my mum is at work, I call her every few hours just to check in."

"My mum doesn't even have my phone number"

While thousands admitted to having a similar relationship to Ava's, others couldn't understand the high frequency of communication.

"I've been no contact for over five years 🥰" one gladly shared.

"Last year, I talked to my mother twice," another said.

"When I need to call her, I have to go to my contacts because the last call was probably multiple weeks earlier," a third added.

While another bragged that their mother couldn't call if she tried: "Bruh, my mum doesn’t even have my phone number."

Understandably, many motherless daughters reminded other viewers to cherish the time we have with our parents (and loved ones).

"My mum passed last week, and I realised a couple of days ago how much I miss calling her 3826328 times a day to talk about literally nothing," one grieving daughter shared.

"Calling my mum to talk about nothing is one of the things I miss most since she's now in a home with Alzheimer's," another wrote.

This woman related hard to Ava's post: "I was the same with my mum when she was alive. We spoke so much throughout the day, for no reason. I cherish those moments now more than ever."

Others were envious of Ava's relationship with her mother, for her being able to call multiple times a day to say 'hi' or nothing at all.

"Not all of us are fortunate enough to have a healthy, loving mum who has our best interests at heart. Feel lucky because you are," wrote one.

"My mum lives 20 minutes away but only calls once or twice a year...for money. I hope my daughter loves me this way," another mother shared.

And finally, this person shared her different perspective, "I love my mum, we are very close and never run out of things to say. But just like with any relationship, it’s nice to have a few days apart to feel."
