Boomer grandma takes to 'the TikTok' to whine about babysitting rules

"POV: Me reading the exhaustive instructions my daughter left me," the clip begins.

Grandma complains about babysitting instructions

How lucky are the people who have young kids and access to free family babysitting?

I suspect that if you ask them, they may admit - not as lucky as you think.

Because, as one mum discovered the hard way this week, there's always a price to pay... with her own mother.

"Me reading instructions my daughter left me"

Self-described Boomer @pikynel, made a clip for her 50k TikTok followers, of her reading some hand-written pages.

Text over the video says, "POV me reading the exhaustive instructions my daughter left me, because I'm babysitting my grandkids for the next two and half days.

"And wondering how on earth I ever managed to raise my own three children. How did I do it."

In her defence, she admits she's a Boomer... although doesn't add a bit of a Karen too.

We can just imagine her daughter seeing the clip as her plane is taking off... not very reassuring.

It's probably important to note that the list actually doesn't seem to give any unnecessary or excessive details.

In fact, as one viewer noted, "If you look at the lists, it's more like which kid has which sport at what time. Any human watching children would have to know that info."

"My instructions for my dogs would be longer tbh"

Viewers were far from impressed with Boomer Grandma's attitude, and told her outright that she being a know-it-all.

"You raised children 30 years ago grandma, lots has changed. None of my child's grandparents even know how to work the car seat," one brutally wrote.

And there was this- from a fellow grandma: "Grandparents are support staff, not management. I am grateful for the clear instructions. I am there to help, not to undo schedules and cause chaos."

Some mums shared their own experiences: "I left a 2-page list for my 9m old for a day when I went to have surgery ended up having complications and was in the hospital for two weeks and my mum thanked me for being so detailed."

This woman also set BG straight: "It doesn’t matter so much that you raised your children, it’s more important that you respect her wishes as SHE raises hers."

But the grandma did have some support.

"So glad my kids aren't high maintenance. They just drop the grandkid off and leave. No lists, no commentary on what we need to do," boasted another BG.

"I love how our kids assume we’re so incompetent 😂😂😂😂," added another, and please note the 4 x laughing emojis which clearly indicate her Boomer status.

Finally, others felt that instead of making a snarky clip for the world to see, a bit of empathy might help the family more, such as this person:

"I did this to my mum too 15 years ago when my son was one, for three days. I found the instructions recently and laughed me head off. Just let her think you used it and give her grace."
