An 'unbelievably selfish' act ruined my kid's Xmas school play

"Put it this way: it was not Silent Night."

Woolworths Biscoff trifle gets hacked!

It’s a fear all parents face at some point - a screaming child in public.

From tantrums on the shop floor to waterworks over food they refuse to eat in a restaurant

Many parents simply remove the child from the environment to take a minute - but many don’t.

'Impossible to hear'

A mum this week has reported that she attended her son’s Christmas play, but there wasn’t much silent night happening.

“Throughout 75% of it, there were two babies that were screaming and crying,” she explained in an online parenting group.

“It made it impossible to hear what the children were saying, and it essentially ruined the whole thing."

There were 120 children in total performing, all who had to compete with the unhappy infants.

“I'm so cross for the children as they've worked so hard, just for crying babies to drown out their voices,” the mum said.

"Unbelievably selfish"

She asked if it was fair to expect the parents to have left the room with their babies.

Many agreed with her...

“So unfair, all the children worked hard all term and nobody could hear them!” one parent said.

“The teachers should have asked them to leave,” added another.

Some felt so strongly, they knew what they would have done.

“I have a baby and I would 100% have left the room in this scenario!” this mum claimed.

Others shared their own school play horror stories.

“We’ve had exactly the same happen to us. My child had his lines drowned out on both showings,” shared one mum.

Finally, there was this debacle: “A woman in the third row stood up three to four times filming on her phone at my kid's Xmas play. She blocked it for loads of people. It was unbelievably selfish."
