Taylor Humphrey, doula and baby-namer extraordinaire, can find you a baby name that fits your family’s personal brand, but it will cost you!

Humphrey, who set up her company What’s in a Baby Name in 2015, has helped a number of high-profile (albeit top-secret) clients find the perfect baby name. She’s now taken to social media, posting advice, sharing lists and solving baby-name dilemmas for her tens of thousands of followers.

What's in a name? Taylor Humphrey knows!

"In today’s age of social media, uniqueness is paramount," Taylor tells The Guardian. “Your name is your destiny. It’s your identity. It’s your brand. It’s the first impression people will ever have of you. I think parents are finally recognising that name choice can really dictate the course of their children’s lives.”

It's no surprise that Humphrey caters to the upper-echelons, celebs, influencers, professional athletes and tech-billionaires. These 1% of the 1% are keen on a full brand-strategy and market research to ensure their first name lives up to their family name (and reputation).

The baby name guru can, ahem, tailor a name to match yours, or other kids in the family, and help devise multiple-name monikers.

The most unique name will set you back over $47K

Starting at $1,500-$30,000 USD ($2375 - $47,500 AU), clients can expect in depth consultations, a video or storybook telling the story of how “Baby X” got their name, doula support and genealogy reports. There are lower-price packages available, $350 USD, Humphrey can supply a list of 15 names or feedback on the names you are considering, based on a questionnaire of a client’s preferences, tastes and values.

A mother who engaged Taylor's services shared on one of her posts, “We simply wanted a strong, powerful name to describe someone who will rise stronger when life tries to put them down.”

Parents who can't afford Taylor's highest package, can follow her on socials for some unpaid baby-name advice. For example, she's recently listed the top trending names for 2023, advised people on what their "rapper name" would be, and even done an explainer on why sharing your baby name before the birth of your child can make you feel vulnerable.
