A par-three golf course north of Adelaide has opened its pint-sized addition, a mini golf course with a real twist.

New mini golf course open in Salisbury

A popular par-three golf course in Adelaide’s northern suburbs has welcomed a new pint-sized addition – a 18-hole minigolf course for the whole family, with a twist.

SHANX Mini Golf opened its second SA location at the Little Para Golf Course on Friday after construction started in May this year.

The facilities include an on-site cafe, indoor and outdoor seating and free off-street parking.

SHANX will offer extended opening hours on Fridays and Saturdays during summer and the venue is available to hire for birthday parties and corporate events starting from $22 per person.

The course is located between the nine-hole, par-three golf course and the full-length TrackMan driving range, with existing ancient river red gums and the Little Para river nearby.

The course was designed to replicate the normal style of a golf course – a “unique” concept in Australia.

“Our minigolf courses are not ‘amusement-based’ with clown heads, windmills and rocks in the middle of putting surfaces, but rather golf as we know it, miniaturised,” its website says.

SHANX Little Para was developed in partnership between Salisbury Council and GreenSpace Management.

Managing director of GreenSpace, Peter Vlahandreas, said the new addition would bring a “better experience” and “welcome even more people to our busy little golf course”.

“With a focus on fun, family and social competition SHANX @ Little Para will be an outstanding community asset for all to enjoy,” Mr Vlahandreas said.

Salisbury Mayor Gillian Aldridge said SHANX would be a “vibrant” addition and cater to patrons of all ages.

“Families will create lasting memories, colleagues will unwind and build connections, and many will experience memorable first dates,” Ms Aldridge said.

“This asset will not only further improve our recreational offerings in the council area, it will also encourage community connection, which we deeply value.”

The course is open to the public seven days a week with entry fees starting at $17 – free for children under six.
