2/14SA Little Legend Hannah Mills, 15, is a key participant at Enfield Athletics Club where she ’always does her very best’. Hannah competes in all events she enjoys regardless of where she thinks she will finish. This nomination celebrates a recent achievement: she has been trying to jump more than 10m triple jump for some time and has finally achieved it, at the State Championships no less. 3/14SA Little Legend Grace McDonald, 11, is a proud member of the Great Southern Slammers basketball club, where she is described as ‘an amazing team player’. Grace led her team to take out the U12 Girls Div 1 SA Country State Championships. Undefeated all season and shooting 91 points across the six State carnival games. Picture: supplied.

6/14SA Little Legend Avalie Deboy, 8, from the Mount Barker District Athletics, broke multiple club records at the recent State championships. The impressive young athlete won Gold in the 70m, 100m, 200m and 60m hurdles. Picture: Supplied.
7/14SA Little Legend Samuel Appleton, 8, is a proud member of the Para Hills Cricket Club. The club raised $10,000 in its Pink Stumps Round for the Mcgrath Foundation during the season. Samuel was named captain of his team for the day. Coach Shane Martin (pictured in pink cap with Samuel and SACA umpires) says the young cricketer always ensures ‘friends support their team mates’, adding: ‘As coach, I don't even have to ask, he is a little legend – to me and the club.’ Picture: Supplied.
8/14SA Little Legend Will Crowhurst, 13, is a keen young basketballer and footballer. He plays for Sturt Basketball Club and Colonel Light Gardens in the SANFL juniors. Will is playing up an age group in football and won the coaches award last season. In addition to team sport, Will enjoys long distance running which bears out in his ability to out run any game, against any opposition. He is described as ‘an all round great teammate who shows great leadership and brings energy to his team’.

10/14SA Little Legend Hayden Barbulovic, 11, is a key member of the the Tea Tree Gully Cricket Club. He played most of the season as a young Div 1 player and was given the opportunity to open the batting in the lower grade. Not only did his team win but he made a 44 not out, his highest ever score. Also a keen wicket keeper, Hayden went on to play the remainder of the season in the Div 1 side and each week gave his everything to keep, taking many catches and stumpings. 11/14SA Little Legend Sophie Betterman, 13. Selected as part of Football SA’s U17 girls grade 2 side, Sophie’s dream to play soccer are fast becoming a reality. Sophie’s love for the game started early, wanting to play with her brothers and became the only girl in her school soccer team. Years later, she convinced all her friends to play. Sophie’s determination to do well has persisted throughout the years. After playing club for a just few months, she was selected for the SA Schools State Team. Late last year, Sophie was selected for the Football SA State program. She is not afraid to take on the boys, older girls - or women as she aims to do well in her sport. Picture: Supplied.
12/14SA Little Legend Emi Pappas, 11, is being celebrated as an undisputed rising star at the Henley South Tennis Club. She is described as ‘a bright young star’. Her with accolades include being named the 2020 Most Improved Junior Female Athlete, 2021 District Div 1/2 Champion, and 2021 Summer Division 1 Finalist. Well done Emi. Picture: Supplied.
