Kmart shoppers 'obsessed' with creepy $25 Halloween item

If you're looking for another sign to head into your local Kmart and buy something impulsive, this is it.

A Kmart shopper has taken to TikTok to share a 'creepy' Halloween item she says is a "necessity" for any respectable home this spooky season.

Unveiling her latest find, mum and lifestyle creator @inhertime posted an unboxing video of a $25 cauldron that emits an eery mist.

"Perfect for conjuring enchantments and delightfully dark decor"

Kmart's $25 Animated Mist Cauldron gives the illusion of bubbling potions with its colour-changing mist, perfect for adding a spooky touch to your Halloween decorations. 

After reading the instructions, the TikToker plugs the cauldron into a powerpoint and then fills it with water. The cauldron then creates a mist and changes from blue, to purple to green.

She captioned her post: "Ah, the bewitching hour approaches, and I find myself compelled to dash—well, glide—through the aisles of Kmart.

"A witch’s mist cauldron awaits, perfect for conjuring enchantments and delightfully dark decor. A simple necessity for any respectable home this Halloween."

She also shared some advice about making the display even more impressive: "I found putting it under the ceiling fan or near an open window with a breeze makes it so much better."

"I'M SPRINTING"

Online, the product received a five-star review, with one customer saying, "This is the coolest thing I could’ve ever purchased .

"I bought it for childcare as the children love making potions in their role play and this was perfect."

And in the TikTok comments, people were equally as obsessed.

"Girl, I don't need any signs to run to Kmart. It just happens," one viewer laughed.

"I counted my money and I am running straight to Kmart in the morning and buying this!!!" another admitted. "It's a must for my room!"

"They sell out very quick!" a third warned, while a fourth exclaimed, "NO WAY I'M SPRINTING."

A lot of people also asked if it's okay to place essential oils in the cauldron, but it's not recommended.

"How does it do the mist? Can you do essential oils and stuff?" one asked. 

But someone replied: "Water only. It's basically a cauldron shaped diffuser."

"You could do it but just beware it might stop working," said someone else.

"Also, if you have pets, don't do this. The oils would be toxic for them," warned another user.
