Those seeking to stay in sanctuary could be able to enjoy one of 20 new villa cabins and dine at a 70-seat restaurant under a newly lodged planning proposal.
The new luxury accommodation, dubbed Sanctuary Villas, is currently up for community consultation and would be built at Pelican Lagoon on Kangaroo Island’s north coast.
The 70-seat restaurant would cater to indoor and outdoor diners with 27 carparking spaces and feature a separate private VIP space equipped with an outdoor fire pit.
Each of the 20 private accommodation villas across two separate areas would offer individual parking, outdoor seating area with fire pit, outdoor spa bath, indoor sauna and an open-plan bedroom and living.
Two of the rooms will be developed with accessibility measures, while one will be reserved for workers at the site.
The venue will be situated along the main tourist route with access to Penneshaw, the SeaLink Ferry Terminal, Kingscote and Kingscote Airport.
If approved, the project would generate 37 local jobs during construction and operation of the venue.
Any members of the public interested in having their say on the development can do so prior to December 12.
