I discovered the secret camera my husband used to film my daughter showering

"I was scared of what might happen - that he might try to hurt me to cover so I couldn't tell on him..." the mum reveals in her viral footage of the sickening discovery.

A man in the US has been arrested after his wife found a hidden camera he allegedly installed in her teen daughter's bathroom.

The Nashville mum-of-three shared a clip on TikTok of the camera she found hidden within the light fixture above her daughter's shower in the bathroom her husband recently remodelled.

"When you’ve been with a man 14 years and you find out he’s been watching your 16yo taking showers, she wrote on the video which has been viewed almost 80 million times.

Horacio Minero-Hernandez was later arrested after his wife called police and they recorded him confessing over the phone.

"My husband put a secret camera in my daughter's shower"

The woman explained in a series of videos that she decided to take a shower in her daughter's bathroom, instead of her own, and noticed one of the five lights wasn't working.

"That light worked before he did the remodel... I looked up in there to see [what kind of bulb it needed] and I couldn't see without the flashlight," she explained.

"I put my light on my camera to see what size the bulb was and I saw the lens... that's how I found out."

She said her husband, her teen daughter's stepdad since she was 2 years old, "admitted to it" over the phone with detectives listening and recording the conversation.

According to Fox17, Minero-Hernandez said it was a "mistake" and that "when you have something wrong in your f***ing head, you just do it without thinking".

His wife also claimed he said he was "trying to see if the camera worked because he found it at work". This excuse, she said, didn't explain why he would put it in the shower.

"That's my 16-year-old's bathroom, and nobody else uses that bathroom," she said. "I'm devastated."

"I never want to see him again until we're in court"

After finding the camera, she immediately grabbed as many belongings as she could, put them in rubbish bags, and fled their family home in fear, burying the camera in clothes in her car boot. She also called the police and reported what she found.

"I was so scared, I was terrified," she explained.

"I was scared of what might happen, he might try to hurt me to cover so I couldn't tell on him," she said in one of her videos in TikTok.

The woman explained to those following her story on the app that she hadn't seen him since this unfolded.

"I never want to see him again until we're in court and I will not look at him... I will let the justice system handle it."

According to media, Minero-Hernandez told police he never watched the minor children take showers because the camera never worked.

He had since been charged with two counts of attempted sexual exploitation of a minor, especially aggravated.

Teen daughter was "overwhelmed with grief"

The woman explained how she had to break the news to her teen daughter.

"That's one of the hardest things I ever had to do. She was very upset, she's really strong... but she was overwhelmed with grief," she said.

"She grew up with him since she was two years old and this is just something that's not normal, it's not normal at all."

She went on to say the thought that the footage could have been circulated in nefarious circles online was "our worst nightmare".

"I pray to God in heaven above that that's not the case, I really do. I never expected this from him."

She said her daughter was "doing pretty well" considering the circumstances, and she had promised her they wouldn't return to that house except to collect their belongings.

"As long as she's got me, she'll be good and, of course, we'll be reaching out for counselling."

The family was now trying to find a place to live and hoped that by sharing their story on TikTok, they might find aid.

She said she initially shared the video and her experience to raise awareness and because she was in "shock".

"Me and my kids are homeless because of this... he was my main source of income."
