Sheldon Riley’s music is dark and moody, but his home is anything but.
Best known as Australia’s latest Eurovision star, and fresh from being crowned runner-up on The Masked Singer, Sheldon’s apartment is a warm and inviting space
“My work world is very dark with sad music and avant-garde clothing, so I really love to have my home be a relaxing, warm and light space for me to write music and be human.”
Sydney-born Sheldon and his partner Zachery Tomlinson moved south a year ago for work commitments and have not looked back.
“My partner and I are both working on projects in Melbourne and fell in love with the area when we first visited so decided to call it home. Our place is modern and full of big windows, which is important to me because I love a light and bright spaces.”
Their homely top floor apartment has views of the city skyline – “I just love to sit on the couch cuddled up with my dogs and chill” – although, admittedly he doesn’t have much downtime.
“I’m heading to Amsterdam in November to perform at Het Grote Songfestivalfeest with artists from the past 64 years of Eurovision. I’m also in the middle of a rebrand, a big change to my style, sound, and next vision, so watch this space.”

SHELDON RILEY’S FAVOURITE THINGS IN HIS SURPRISING WORLD
Jai Vasicek art tile
Jai is my favourite artist in the world and this was my first piece of his that I
purchased. I cannot wait to own lots and lots more of his art.
Baby’s breath
I am obsessed with Baby’s Breath, it makes me happy. I buy bunches in bulk from the flower market every weekend and place them around our home.
Flags
I’m not a very sentimental person when it comes to travelling and souvenirs, these two flags mean so much to me. They’re the only Eurovision items I brought home with me from Italy.
Chanel book
It was the first item I bought when I first got my own place. I always admired shows
like Sex and the City with their beautifully styled coffee-table books and needed to have a few of my own.
Guitar
This was my first guitar. Most people think that all my songs have such heavy piano and that’s how I write my music. I actually write most, if not all, my songs on the guitar first.
Maison Margiela Replica (Fireplace) has been my signature scent for years. I never go anywhere without bathing in it before walking out the door.
Crystal Mask
This was the mask that changed my career. It was the very first one I wore on The Voice All Stars back in 2019 and it seriously changed my life. This masterpiece by House of Emmanuel is a collaboration with Swarovski.
chanel book
I have worn masks for years and the exposure of wearing them has introduced me to incredible creatives all around the world. This mask was made by Lady Gaga’s very own mask maker, Lance Victor Moore.
