A popular $10 item has returned to shelves with a new look after it sold out two years in a row.
Kmart’s Christmas Cookie candle was sold out in 2022 before the retailer brought in three additional scents in 2023 — gingerbread house, Christmas trifle and candy cane — which also were quick to vanish from shelves.
Now, Kmart has brought back the candles for a more everyday range, with the scents including caramel waffle, frosted cupcake and vanilla cookie.
Nicholas Holmes, Kmart’s buyer for the home section, said: “The sprinkle candle range is starting to land on shelves in some states, however, these candles should be available and start appearing on all shelves, for all states, by the end of next week.
“This is a brand-new range for Kmart, taking the best fragrances from our seasonal ranges and making them available all year round. We have also added some delicious scents such as cookies, cupcakes, and waffle fragrances.
“Our team were inspired to range the non-festive sprinkle candles due to the incredible popularity of our Christmas collection. Baking fragrances are trending within the candle space, so we were inspired to bring the sweet aroma of baking goods, with delicious scents of cookie, cupcake, and waffle fragrances.
“Customers love the sprinkle candle range due to the fun and enticing sprinkle candle vessel and deliciously sweet scents.”
An employee named Gabby went viral in 2022 on TikTok after posting about the Christmas version of the item.
“I am currently filling in the Christmas section,” the Kmart employee began her clip. “This candle is the most delicious thing I have smelled in my life.
“And the sprinkles,” she said, pointing out the decoration on the jar. “How beautiful is that? High recommend.”
