Houdini the dog makes great escape from the pound

A DOG named Houdini lived up to his name after slipping out of a Humane Society kennel overnight and opening two doors to exit the building.

A DOG named Houdini lived up to his name after slipping out of a Humane Society kennel overnight and exiting the building.

"He had to actually push down the handle, push the door open and walk out in both cases," says Gretchen Pressley of the Humane Society.

The Colorado Springs dog’s impressive escape, via two doors, was all caught on security camera, CBS Denver reports.

The lost dog had an even bigger mission to accomplish than simply taking in some air. Houdini was later discoverd over a kilometre away, in the company of a new family eager to adopt him.

“I think he’s a wonderful dog, and as much as I would love for his owner to come and claim him, I wouldn’t mind to welcome him into my family,” Ashley Heister told CBS.

At the time of reporting, the shelter were waiting one more day to see if Houdini’s owners would claim him.
