BEFORE she died, Charlotte Dawson was putting the finishing touches on a homewears line, a range of handmade canvas cushions and coasters made in her favourite place — Bali.
Not wanting Dawson’s work to go to waste, her friends have joined forces and this week, the collection, Charlotte Dawson Home, is launching online, with proceeds benefiting her favourite charities.
In the weeks prior to her death in February this year, Dawson played host to longtime friend and homewears designer Billy Allen, who provided the initial inspiration behind the line, and eventually became a collaborator.
After Dawson died, friend Jai Evans decided to take over the project, believing that “it will put a smile on Charlotte’s face wherever she is now”.
“Charlotte is still with us, she was always there for others, and this is a great opportunity to give back,” Evans said.
Sister Vicky added that the family is “delighted to be associated with Charlotte Dawson Homewares. This is a wonderful way to make sure that something positive will come out of Charlotte’s passing.”
In true Charlotte style, proceeds from the range will be split evenly between her favourite charities: Lifeline, Community Brave, ACON, Variety’s Smile Program, and Angels Goals.
The Canvas Indoor/Outdoor Cushions retail for $59.95 each, and the Canvas Indoor/Outdoor Coasters retail for $34.95 for a set of six.
