Comedian Moshe Kasher sets up Go Fund Me page to help pay his rent

HE LIVES in a comfortable Los Angeles house but Moshe Kasher needs help with his rent.

Why? Well, it’s not because he can’t afford it. As he bluntly puts it, it’s because he wants you to.

The US comedian has set up a Go Fund Me page asking his family, friends and “most especially my FANS” to help him pay his rent next month because he doesn’t want to spend his own money.

He says on the site that he recently moved into a larger house and his rent doubled.

And while he knew his income would increase in order to cover the higher amount he thinks it’s

“frivolous” to pay it twice.

The post went up on Wednesday and has already received dozens of ‘donations’ totalling more than $300 (US).

Kasher says he won’t reveal how much he needs just that when it goes over the amount he promises to spend it on “other expenses” in his life such as “soy candles, perfumes, meringues, and macarons”.

Adding to the ‘desperation’ is the fact that he won’t even be in the house for the month of June because he will have the “difficult task” of filming a movie in Rome and will be staying in an all-expenses paid luxury apartment with “360-degree” views.

“Again, to clarify, I in no way need this money and am in a very stable place financially,” he writes. “In fact, from an economic perspective, I have never been doing better.

“Again, to be SUPER clear, rent is never a slight problem for me to afford. BUT it is a HUGE inconvenience. I like my money and I want to keep it. I want to keep it very much.

If you can give anything, even as little as just one to seven hundred dollars, it would go a long way towards me being able to not spend even ONE DOLLAR on my own personal expenses.”

But Kasher’s plans almost came undone after the Go Fund Me administrators shut down the page temporarily because of the “high number of obscene comments” left by donors.

Luckily for the comedian they have allowed his ‘fundraising’ efforts to continue.
