TikTok star Taylor Rousseau Grigg’s cause of death has been released, just one week after she died at age 25.

Taylor — who boasted over 1.4 million followers on the social media platform — reportedly passed away on October 4 from complications related to asthma and Addison’s disease, a representative for her family told Today.com.

A source connected to the influencer’s family confirmed to People that she died from complications stemming from a severe asthma attack.

Months before her death, Taylor addressed the pain she’d been suffering while searching for a diagnosis. In an eerie video, the TikToker shared that she felt like she was “fighting for life every day,” New York Post reported.

“A girl said that I just looked like the life has been drained out of me. Honestly, for a time there, that’s true,” she shared in the TikTok clip.

“I feel like I’m fighting for life everyday. When I didn’t necessarily know what was wrong with me, I’d be in bed in pain just wishing to be dead because I just wanted it to end and I don’t necessarily feel that way now.”

Taylor held back tears while sharing, “I should be in my prime. I should be able to walk to the mailbox or run and those are just things I can’t really do right now.”

Her husband, Cameron Grigg, announced her “sudden and unexpected” death on Instagram over the weekend.

“No one ever expects to have to deal with this kind of pain and heartache, especially at our age,” Cameron’s emotional post read.

“This past year Taylor has dealt with more pain and suffering than most people do in a lifetime. And despite that she still has been such a light and always brought joy to everyone around her.”

Calling his wife, whom he married last year, the “most brave and strong woman I know,” Cameron said that Taylor “saved my life and so many others out there.”

He also revealed that she was donating her organs.

“More than anything Taylor would want to know that she’s continuing to save people’s lives even after she’s gone from this world,” Cameron wrote.

“And even though her earthly body may have failed her, her memory and life will be carried on forever. She doesn’t owe anyone, anything. But she would want everyone to know that she’s more than OK.”

Taylor’s family launched a GoFundMe to help with costs associated with her passing. Cameron noted that they “don’t have anything financially in order” and did not have insurance. As of Thursday afternoon, over $51,000 (AUD $75,650) has been donated toward the $100,000 (AUD $148,334) goal.

Taylor and Cameron started dating in 2021 after meeting through social media. They got engaged in June 2022 and married in August 2023.

Her final video was posted on September 26, showing her spending time with their beloved dog.
