Red Bull has announced the return of a popular product – three years after it was discontinued in Australia.

The cult energy drink was sold in a resealable bottle for almost 10 years before it was axed in 2021.

Aussies who preferred the option of being able to open and close their beloved caffeinated beverage, a feat not possible when drinking it from a can, were determined to get Red Bull to consider its decision.

Now, after several years of complaining on social media, the highly-demanded 330ml bottle is back in both the OG version and a new Sugarfree variety at Coles stores across the country.

In an advert shared by Red Bull promoting the return, the brand states: “They’re back.”

Meanwhile Coles told news.com.au the product had recently returned to shelves after the brand pulled it globally three years ago.

“We’re delighted to be the only major supermarket in the country to offer Red Bull’s range of 330ml bottles in the original flavour and new sugar-free variety,” the spokesperson said.

“We know our customers are wanting more convenience and the resealable lid gives them the flexibility to enjoy throughout the day.”

Fans of the screw top lid have been asking for the aluminium bottle to come back to Australia after noticing it was still available in several international markets.

“Red Bull, bless us with this please,” one wrote on Reddit alongside an image of the desired item.

“I want the bottle back so much,” another agreed.

However some argued they “preferred” the can, claiming it “tastes better”.

The popular energy drink launched in the Australian market in 1999, 12 years after the first can was sold in Austria in 1987.

Since then its grown to become a household product sold in more than 170 countries around the world, with the brand stating that more than 12 billion cans of Red Bull were consumed in 2023 alone.

The announcement comes just days after the 2024 Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series took place in Sydney.

The annual international event saw 12 male and 12 female compete in the extreme sport which takes place at multiple series locations around the world.

Its 2024 season wrapped up in Sydney, with Great Britain’s Aidan Heslop taking his first title of his Red Bull Cliff Diving career.

Meanwhile Aussie diver Rhiannan Iffland – who confirmed her champion status at the previous stop – celebrated her record-extending eighth title on home soil.
