Macca’s is no longer serving its breakfast menu all day

Macca’s predicted there would some be “disappointed” customers after it made a huge change to its breakfast schedule and it was right.

Best Three: All day-breakfasts have brought home the bacon for McDonald's

McDonald’s Australia has quietly pulled its popular all-day breakfast menu — meaning customers can no longer nab the brekky items whenever they want.

Instead, the fast-food chain will only be serving its breakfast items from 4am to midday across its restaurants.

“From Wednesday, October 20, our breakfast menu will be available until midday in restaurants and 10.30am via McDelivery, to better meet the needs of customers during other peak times,” it said in a statement to news.com.au.

The all-day brekky menu was first introduced back in 2015, becoming an instant hit, however in its efforts to speed up wait times during its afternoon and evening rush, the menu has been restricted to before midday.

“By adjusting our all-day breakfast schedule we hope to reduce the amount of time our customers may need to wait for other items during the afternoon and evening rush,” the statement continued.

“While we understand a number of customers will be disappointed, our breakfast menu will continue to be available in restaurant until midday every day and via McDelivery until 10.30am.”

And it would be correct — social media users have already shared their disapproval with one unhappy customer writing on Facebook: “I would frequently have a bacon and egg meal as a lunch or dinner option. Losing a customer here. Just left the store without purchasing anything.”

“Why have you stopped all day breakfast? Without any notice either! Not happy,” another person added, while a third wrote: “I just woke up from a big night out, hung over, hungry. Incapable of cooking my own food. My girlfriend drives me to Macca’s... and to my disgust the all-day breakfast menu has been violated.”

The only brekky item customers can still get their hands on all day is hash browns. Macca’s also confirmed the controversial move had nothing to do with the Covid-19 pandemic.

“How does McDonald’s expect me to go to bed at 4am and wake up early enough to obtain the glorious sausage McMuffin to revive my soul. I don’t want a Big Mac for breakfast I want pancakes for dinner,” another Facebook user wrote.
