Fans share their theories about what the new Bluey movie will be about

Oh, some of these are good! What do you think will happen?

At the end of last year, Bluey creator Joe Brumm made headlines by announcing that a Bluey movie would be hitting cinemas in 2027 - score!

Of course, fans are finding it impossible to wait that long, with theories already flowing in, and if Brumm hadn’t said he’d finished the script already, I wouldn’t be surprised if he were writing these down.

The ideas begin

A Bluey fan took to the Adult Bluey Fans Facebook group to share their extensive list of movie predictions.

The post started out saying the movie will open with viewers watching an episode of Chutney Chimp - a show within the world of Bluey.

In the movie, the poster suggested Bluey and Bingo could be older, at around 7 and 9 years old, given how Brumm previously said he was struggling to think of ideas as his own daughters aged - setting up for ‘a more Arthur aged Bluey’ season after the movie’s release. However, it could still include flashbacks to the characters’ ages in the show.

As for other character appearances, they thought we may see a new cousin from Aunt Brandy, and a reappearance of Jean-Luc.

Will Jean-Luc return?

Of the original poster’s predictions, fans were definitely most excited about the prospective return of Jean-Luc - Bluey’s French-speaking friend, introduced in the season one episode Camping, where he and Bluey meet on a camping holiday.

“I will die if we don’t get a Jean Luc arc‚” one commenter said.

“Bluey and Jean Luc as older kids at the campground. I need itttt!!!” said another.

However, some didn’t think it was very likely.

“I think we’re finished with Jean-Luc,” said one.

A mega road trip!

Others thought the movie could focus on more of Australia’s highlights, taking viewers on a road trip adventure.

“Mega road trip, seeing more of Queensland and Australia, including a visit to Winton, Joe Brumm's birthplace. Of course with an adventure story thrown in,” one commenter suggested.

“I think it's going to majorly love on Australia with more cameos of real places and events,” another agreed.

“I’m going to assume the movie will be about the Heeler family traveling beyond Brisbane and learning life lessons outside of their own home,” said a third.

Theories on theories on theories

And, the ideas didn’t stop here, with just about everyone having their own idea of what the movie could look like - or at least what they want it to look like.

“Need some SOCKS scenes of her as Bingo’s age!” one commenter said.

“Maybe the movie will be an alternate ending of The Sign and we'll get to see what would happen if they did move...as older kids,” said another.

“What I need is a bluey all grown up like the Rugrats all grown up,” another said.

“The Heeler family go to America. The movie should include Muffin and Socks,” another commenter suggested.
