Princess Charlotte's nickname

During a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, royal expert Katie Nicholl revealed that Charlotte's family and peers affectionately call her a 'Tomboy.'

"[Charlotte] loves climbing trees and she's very much an adventurer," Katie told the program.

Charlotte is often seen as the royal who will play up to the paparazzi when venturing out on an engagement with mum Kate Middleton or dad Prince William - poking her tongue at photographers or pulling faces.

But while the nickname might suit her personality, some royal fans wonder if the name is actually nice or an insult.

"I was called a tomboy at school and I was always offended by it," one person told Kidspot.

"Just because you like to kick a football or climb a tree, doesn't mean you're a tomboy. Didn't that nickname go out in the 80s?" another added.
