Busy mum shares nifty meal planning trick

Everybody loves a good, cheap feed – especially during a hard day at work!

Lucky for you, we have hit the streets in search of the best meal deals around the Adelaide CBD.

Whether you fancy a scrummy big brekky or a quick Korean fried hot dog, we’ve covered all bases with our full list of cheap eats below.

As the CBD recovers from the pandemic the masterminds behind vegan Greek joint, Staazi & Co, say the streets are feeling livelier than ever.

The statistics show workers and tourists are returning to the city – carparks are regularly full, office and hotel occupancy is the highest in Australia at above 70 per cent – steadily helping to restore business activity to pre-Covid levels.

Roger Brackley and his wife, Anastasia Lavrentiadis, serve up yiros and loaded fries that could easily be mistaken for meat.

“The vibe is so much better now,” said Mr Brackley.

“It’s not completely the same as before but I believe we will get there.

“It’s the slowest time of the year in any case, May and June but it’s definitely gone back to steady traffic and the streets are feeling more lively.”

The pair decided to set up a food truck in 2017 when Ms Lavrentiadis had had enough of the “corporate rat race” and Mr Brackley’s lease at Britannia Antiques was ending.

The food truck was so successful, less than two years later they opened a store on Grenfell St to spread their message of veganism through traditional Greek food.

“We are both vegan and saw a gap in the vegan market for traditional Greek yiros,” said Mr Brackley.

While the majority of feeds on this list come in at $15 or under but there are also some treats for city slickers looking to splurge.
