1/14SA Little Legend Justin Dolman, 12, had a stellar season playing for Goodwood Roos in the Adelaide Turf Cricket Association, including taking a hat trick and having the figures of 3 for 1 off 3 overs. A new crop of little sporting legends revealed
A 10-year-old runner who has beaten his grown-up rivals, sporting firsts and displays of good sportsmanship: Scroll this week’s field of 13 Little Legend finalists.
2/14SA Little legend Holly Beare, 6, from Wanderers Soccer Club, is pictured here at a match against Steel United Soccer Club. 3/14SA Little Legends the Golden Grove Kookaburras U8s blue team. We love that the entire team has been nominated in recognition of its strong displays of sportsmanship. We’re told, the young players are all great friends who ‘help each other learn and improve each week, celebrate their personal achievements and have great fun while doing it’, capturing the true spirit of what this Sunday Mail campaign. For Liam, getting to pick up his bat, pull on his pads and face a ball last season was sweeter than for most. We’re told the young runner was keen to try a trail running event after watching his mum participate … and he ended up coming third overall in the men’s 10km run at the Belair Marathon Festival. 9/14SA Little Legend Dominic Coccetti, 5, is loving playing soccer for his U6 team at school, the Bilbies. The youngster has been nominated for his all-round effort. He is pictured here at his second-ever match. We’re told Dominic’s efforts are even more impressive given he is on the spectrum and has sensory issues. ‘He has done a tremendous job plus kicking a number of goals for his team – (we) couldn’t be any more proud of him!’ Well done, Dominic! 10/14SA Little Legend Addi Cattonar, 11, has been starring for the Cove Cannons BMX Club, in the 12 girls’ competition. Nominated for her all-round effort, we are told she ‘never gives up and gives 100 per cent every week’. 11/14SA Little Legends and school mates Samuel Carpenter, Levi McGowan and Summer Thomas from Tatachilla Lutheran College, have just taken out the coveted Bottroff Shield in the finals of the teams Stableford golf competition, held at North Adelaide Golf Course. The top eight teams after Round 1 competed in perfect conditions, before this talented trio secured victory with an aggregate Stableford score of 110 between the three players. Picture: Supplied
