A successful Queensland wellness influencer with over 400,000 followers has made the shock claim a fertility clinic destroyed eight of her embryos by using the wrong storing solution.

The stunning revelation by Georgie Stevenson comes as Queensland Health is investigating the efficiency of the state’s IVF laws after serious blunders across the country – including a Brisbane woman giving birth to a baby that was not hers.

Stevenson, 30, from the Gold Coast, is a multi-millionaire and is the co-founder of one of Australia’s fastest-growing supplements companies.

On Wednesday night she exposed the devastating error to her hundreds of thousands of followers on Instagram.

She claimed the mistake was a human error but has not divulged the name of her IVF provider.

Stevenson revealed that she had a very successful egg retrieval with 21 eggs collected.

Eight embryos were subsequently frozen at her IVF clinic.

But as she was heading to the clinic for the embryo implantation she got an ominous call from her doctor to come and see him.

“I knew immediately something was wrong,” she said.

She was told the wrong solution was used on the embryos and none were viable.

“If you are going through IVF you know how physically and emotionally draining it is. It was devastating,” Stevenson revealed.

The influencer said she had been refunded for that cycle of treatment and received another cycle free when she said she got her “second chance” and fell pregnant with a baby girl.
