Cast members from the beloved 90s Australian children’s show Round the Twist reunited recently for the world premiere musical adaptation of the series.

Stars from across three seasons of the show, based on short stories by children’s author Paul Jennings, attended the red carpet premiere of the Round the Twist musical at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre’s Playhouse, where the show will run until December 8.

Among those in attendance were Robyn Gibbes (Fay, Season 1 and 2), Eamonn Kelly (Andrew, Season 2), Nick Mitchell (Tiger, Season 2), Cameron Nugent (Tiger, Season 1), Ben Thomas (Pete, Season 2), Jeffrey Walker (Bronson, Season 2), Tamsin West (Linda, Season 2), and Richie Young (James Gribble, Season 2).

Round the Twist ran for 52 episodes across four seasons, with an initial two-season run in 1990 and 1992 followed by another two-season stint in 2000 and 2001. Along the way it became an award-winning, internationally acclaimed classic (with a banger of a theme tune).

The musical adaptation of Round the Twist covers episodes from the first two seasons of the TV show, and arrives with author Paul Jennings’ blessing.

Written by Paul Hodge and directed by Simon Phillips, Round The Twist The Musical will run until December 8.

And yes, that iconic theme tune is included in the show.
