The third radio ratings for 2023 are out and it’s good news for one breakfast team – but not-so-good news for the duo that dropped a whopping 2.4 share points.

Triple M’s breakfast team of Mark Ricciuto, Chris Dittmar and Laura O’Callaghan is continuing to kick goals with listeners.

The trio has gained 0.9 share points to 15.1, consolidating the FM station’s hold on top spot in the third radio ratings survey for 2023.

The win puts Triple M’s team 2.6 points ahead of FIVEaa’s Will Goodings and David Penberthy – who came in second with 12.5 points, despite a dip of 1.1.

Triple M is also four points clear of ABC Adelaide’s Stacey Lee and Nikolai Beilharz who finished third with 11.1, up 0.7.

It’s quite a coup for Roo, Ditts and Loz because the two AM stations, FIVEaa and Aunty, have traditionally juggled for first place in the brekky slot.

In fourth place with 10.1 was Nova 919, which has an early breakfast show with Ben Harvey, Liam Stapleton and Belle Jackson recorded in Melbourne followed by an Adelaide-based show hosted by Jodie Oddy and Andrew Hayes.

They were followed by Mix 102.3 and its Ali Clarke Breakfast Show on 8.9, which lost 0.8 of a share point, with SAFM’s Bec and Soda slipping to sixth spot after dropping a whopping 2.4 to end up with 8.2.

Triple M also remains the number one station overall, on 12.4, followed by Mix 102.3 (12.1), Nova 919 (10.7), FIVEaa (9.4), Cruise (8.9) and SAFM (8.7), with all the commercial stations rating ahead of ABC Adelaide in seventh place on 7.7.

Mix 102.3’s Max Burford and Ali Clarke lost 0.8 of a share point from 9.7 to 8.9.

The radio ratings results ladder is based on share points which are calculated by taking into account the number of people tuning in for at least eight minutes within a 15-minute timeslot, which is also known as “cume” or cumulative audience, and the time they spend listening.

In terms of the cumulative audience (cume), Nova was the most popular in the breakfast timeslot with an audience of 194,000.

It was followed by Mix on 172,000, SAFM on 160,000 and Triple M on 156,000.
