The most vulgar Golden Globes yet

THE GOLDEN Globes are normally a classy affair full of glamour and sophistication, but this year’s awards ceremony was full of expletives — even a C-bomb.

WHILE the Golden Globes are normally a classy affair full of glamour and sophistication, this year’s awards ceremony will go down as the most vulgar yet.

If Ricky Gervais’ grossly inappropriate jokes weren’t enough to shock viewers and attendees, expletives and curse words were being dropped left, right and centre from presenters, winners and even the host himself.

Gervais got in early with an F-bomb, as did Jonah Hill. Jaimie Alexander said “s**t”, while Amy Schumer topped them all and dropped the ‘C word’ for what is believed to be the first time ever during the live broadcast of a Hollywood awards show.

Schumer and Jennifer Lawrence were presenting an award together when they were discussing their nicknames, Schumer dubbing herself “A Schu”.

“Amy, you can’t just give yourself a nickname,” Lawrence told her on stage. “It has to come naturally. What do people usually call you?”

To which Amy replied: “Usually they just call me c***.”

“We can forget about that, but that’s true,” Lawrence replied.

Cate Blanchett and Julia Louis-Dreyfus were among the celebrities in the audience who were shown looking shocked immediately after.

The curse word came after Schumer left E! red carpet host Ryan Seacrest highly embarrassed during their interview when she complained about her “itchy vagina”.

The host scrambled to change the subject after the Trainwreck star spoke of her uncomfortable situation.

But that wasn’t the only awkward moment or expletive uttered during the night.

Among his controversial and often offensive jokes, Ricky Gervais also wasn’t afraid to let the F-word slip.

Jonah Hill, dressed as the bear from Leonardo DiCaprio’s The Revenant also twice dropped the F-Bomb while presenting an award with Channing Tatum.

Jaimie Alexander also lost her cool with the autocue, cursing the person who was working the teleprompter by saying “Dude, who’s typing this s**t?” when there was a pause in the text she was meant to be reading.

While the expletives were able to be heard during the Fox8 broadcast in Australia, American viewers who were watching the awards show on NBC complained about the long pauses every time a curse word was bleeped out.

Expletives can be broadcast on cable, but not on free-to-air channels such as NBC.
