The judges won’t back Kyle and Kara for a win on The Block — but they are a favourite with the public

MORE than half of all money wagered on The Block has been for Kyal and Kara, despite all three judges and foreman Keith saying they wouldn’t buy their apartment. Here’s why.

The Block's Kyal and Kara

NOT one of the judges, nor foreman Keith Schleiger has backed Kyal and Kara to win The Block, yet the NSW duo have still emerged the clear frontrunner with the public.

Almost 50 per cent of all money wagered on the renovation show via sportsbet.com.au has been on the super Ks, with the pair’s odds falling dramatically in recent days to put them in pole position.

Kyal and Kara’s odds now sit at $1.75, originally opening at $6, before moving out to their longest odds of $8 in week one.

After their first room reveal win in week three, their odds were demolished to $3 and they’ve never looked back, constantly shortening to now stand as the punters number one pick.

Brad and Dale have emerged as the second favourites to take out the title with odds of $2.75 and 27 per cent of all money wagered.

They began as $3.50 favourites when betting opened, falling to $4 in week six, before finishing last week at $2.10.

Alisa and Lysandra came into the series defending their title, but their odds have swung as much as their moods during the series.

Starting in second place on odds of $3.75, they took the lead as favourites in week five, before dropping to $5 — their worst price to date.

22 per cent of all money wagered has been placed on the twins.

Steve and Chantelle started in third place at $4 but quickly fell to be the underdogs. Their odds have consistently fallen to now sit at $11, with just 2 per cent of all bets being placed on them.

Sportsbet.com.au’s Will Byrne says this has been one of the best series of The Block to date.

“The betting has been completely topsy turvy since the beginning and the only thing that can surprise us now would be a Chantelle and Steve win.”

However, despite the odds, all three Block judges declared just days ago that they would not buy Kyal and Kara’s apartment.

Darren Palmer and Neale Whittaker said they would both buy Alisa and Lysandra’s apartment if they had a spare $2 million because of its huge kitchen/lounge/dining area.

While Shaynna Blaze would snap up Brad and Dale’s because of their luxurious and enormous master bedroom and consistency throughout.

Foreman Keith Schleiger also told news.com.au that he would pick between the two Faves as their living areas are “20-30 per cent better than the newbies in size”.

The auction finale screens from 7.30pm on Wednesday night — which is also the twins’ 30th birthday.
