Shock result as Big Brother's Ben gets evicted from the house
MORE tears flow in the Big Brother house, and around the nation, as show favourite Ben gets evicted.
Big Brother fans are in shock after Ben Zabel was evicted tonight.
Viewers are struggling to comprehend that the 30 year old, from Queensland, has left the Channel 9 reality show.
The Big Brother studio audience erupted after the announcement, giving Ben a standing ovation.
Ben had been one of the favourites to collect the $250,000 first prize.
Tahan has now shot to short odds to win Big Brother after walloping the other nominated housemates with 32.1 per cent of the votes to save.
All of the guys were within a point or two of going home. Tim, another favourite to win, scored 17.8 with Ed on 16.9, Drew on 17.0 and Ben last on 16.2.
Tonight's result is a huge upset - a massive turnaround from a few weeks ago when Ben was the centre of a fake eviction after getting the most votes to save.
"This year there has been no pattern to the voting," Big Brother host Sonia Kruger said. "We've had more votes to save this week than any other eviction this year."
Ben, famed for roaming the house in his pyjamas, seemed to have a sixth sense that he was going home.
He told the other housemates that if he left, he wouldn't be upset about not winning but about missing people.
"I had a feeling," he said when the verdict was announced. "Don't expect me to come back (another fake eviction).
"This is mental health boot camp. I found it so rewarding. This is part of the reinvention of my life."
The remaining housemates were stunned by the elimination.
"We're losing a family member," Tim said.
Fans of the show took to Twitter to express their shock and dismay at Ben's eviction:
Big Brother, I'll give you Jade, Mikkayla, Boog, Madaline and even Ed in exchange for Ben please. Ridiculous. #bbau
