Farmer Joe mumbles through awkward question about Sarah

Farmer Wants A Wife star Sarah Carey has addressed swirling reports she’s already split from partner Joe Bobbin following last week’s finale.

The 31-year-old Queensland woman managed to steal farmer Joe’s heart on this season of the Channel 7 reality series, with the pair ending up together during the final episode on Tuesday.

However, their union wasn’t without criticism from fans, who levelled hate at Sarah on social media for her behaviour in the finale, in which she had an awkward confrontation with Joe.

Now, Sarah has revealed the couple are still going strong after filming wrapped, though said she’s been left heartbroken by reaction from viewers.

“I was quite emotional and upset, there was a fair bit of trolling,” she told 7NEWS.com.au.

“So that was probably one of the hardest times of my life, if I’m honest.

“I got to the end of it and quite honestly I was crying on the phone to Joe.”

Sarah went on to say to say she struggled with cameras following her every move as she attempted to develop a connection with Joe.

“I’m being called moody and sulky … and awful things that isn’t really who I am,” she said.

“I think not having gone through that before … Joe and I are quite sensitive people so it rocked us both.”

Sarah and Joe are committed to making their romance work in the real world, with the livestock administrator regularly travelling to stay with him on his farm in Bombala, NSW.

“Joe and I are trying to navigate our new relationship, it’s all so new,” she said.

Elsewhere, Joe told The Canberra Times his new girlfriend had been “copping it a fair bit”.

“I feel really sorry for Sarah,” he told the publication.

“It’s funny, people want you to go on these shows to find love and to find happiness and be in a partnership and when you do, everyone just wants to turn against you and say, ‘It’s fake’ or ‘You shouldn’t have done that, you should have chosen someone else’ and try to ruin it.”
